Chiara Iezzi was born in Milan 27 February 1973. Her sister, Paola was born 30 March 1974. The story goes that while they were attending secondary school ,
one of their teachers just happened to be Roberto Vecchioni. In the mid-90’s, they toured as backing vocalists with the group 883. In 1995 they proposed a song to their record company – they sang it there and then, accompanying themselves on the guitar. The song was "Amici come prima", which went on to win the Sanremo New Talent category in 1997. Their first tour was as support band to Mark Owen (who had just split from Take That) whom they rivalled in the popularity stakes and as opening act in Michael Jackson’s Italian tour. Their first album (CI CHIAMANO BAMBINE) which was written after a trip to Ireland, was a success.
Although they were undoubtedly popular at this point, when they reappeared at Sanremo in 1998 with "Per te", they came in close to last in the Festival and the song didn’t engender much interest, this was also the case with the second album, GIORNATA STORICA. After dabbling in radio and television for a while, they reappeared with TELEVISION in 2000 and "Vamos a bailar (esta vida nueva)" as single, which became the popular theme for the whole of that summer, winning "Disco per l’estate" and remaining at number one in the charts for six consecutive weeks. TELEVISION was republished in 2001 and was also distributed in England. In 2001, Paola and Chiara were chosen as spokeswomen for "Gay Pride" and the single "Viva el amor" from the album TELEVISION was chosen as theme song for the demonstration.
In May 2002 the single "Festival" hit the shops and was an immediate hit on the radio and heralded the arrival of the album of the same name at the end of June.
The album was produced and arranged by Paola and Chiara and was also produced in English and Spanish versions. "Kamasutra" (a single from the same album) came out in the summer of 2003 and had a decidedly long run.
In 2004 their album BLU came out, preceded by the release of the single, also called "Blu", which was a tropical-pop song with an eighties feel.
In March 2005 they took part, with luck not entirely on their side, in the Festival of Sanremo with "A modo mio"which was popular with the radios however and was followed by a GREATEST HITS album, with two previously unreleased tracks (available also in the double version, with dvd included).
